Terms of Use

1. The two products

apikee ships open-source SDKs licensed under MIT, and optional paid add-ons (AI capabilities license, managed hosting). These terms cover the paid offerings. Use of the open-source SDKs is governed solely by the MIT license shipped with each package.

2. License keys

A license key is issued per organization and tied to the org ID provided at checkout. Keys may be used on a single self-hosted instance. Redistribution or resale of license keys is not permitted. License keys do not expire on a fixed date but are tied to an active subscription.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your purchase email and license key secure. Notify us at security@apikee.com immediately if you believe a key has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

• • No reverse-engineering of the paid AI capability components.
• • No use of managed hosting to distribute spam, malware, or to attack other systems.
• • No attempts to bypass rate limiting, billing, or usage tracking.
• • No sharing of license keys outside your organization.

5. Billing & refunds

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Paddle. Subscription charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable consumer protection law. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period.

6. Service availability

For managed hosting plans, we target 99.9% monthly uptime. Self-hosted instances with a license key are unaffected by our service availability — local SDK verification never requires a network call to our servers.

7. Intellectual property

The open-source SDK code is MIT-licensed and you retain all rights to use, fork, and modify it. The AI capability module and managed hosting infrastructure remain the intellectual property of apikee.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, apikee's total liability for any claim arising from the paid services is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which apikee is incorporated. Any disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation.
