Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

apikee ("we", "us") provides open-source SDKs and a self-hosted API management platform. This policy covers data collected when you visit apikee.com, use our SDKs, or purchase a license.

2. Data we collect

• • Account data — Email and billing details when you purchase a license or contact us.
• • Usage data — When you use our managed hosting option: API request metadata (endpoint, status code, latency, client ID). We never store request or response payloads.
• • Telemetry — Anonymous SDK version pings to help us prioritize support. Opt out with . APIKEE_TELEMETRY=0.
• • Cookies — Session cookies on apikee.com. No third-party advertising trackers.

3. Self-hosted instances

When you self-host Apikee, all data stays on your own infrastructure. We have no access to your API traffic, keys, workspaces, or user data. The only data that flows to us is the anonymous telemetry ping described above (if not disabled).

4. How we use your data

To process license purchases, send transactional emails (receipts, license keys), prevent abuse, and improve the SDK. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

5. Subprocessors

We use a small number of vetted providers: Paddle (payments), a transactional email provider, and cloud hosting. We share only the minimum data each provider needs to perform its function.

6. Data retention

License and billing records are retained for the duration required by applicable law (typically 7 years for financial records). Account data is deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.

7. Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@apikee.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest. License keys are signed with HMAC-SHA256. If you discover a security issue, please disclose it responsibly at security@apikee.com.

9. Changes

Material changes to this policy will be notified by email at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
